“During the fall of 2005, it became clear that the roof of my house in Oakdale needed to be replaced. I went to the Woodbury Home Depot, to learn more about materials and methods associated with this process. I had the good fortune to meet Pete Ziemer, who was at that time a Home Depot employee. I am a 3M chemist/engineer.  I am also a consumer with exceedingly high expectations.  Simply stated, I am by far, the pickiest person that most people have ever met. When I find a product or service that meets and exceeds my high expectations, it is a joy to share my experience with others. That is my objective at this time, via this communication.

What follows is an outline of criteria that I used to select a contractor.

Apex delivered on ALL items.

• the persons that I interacted with up-front, would be the ones actually performing the work
• integrity, honesty, straight talk, zero BS
• high quality workmanship/craftsmanship, and high quality materials
• fair/reasonable price
• allow me to closely monitor the entire process, and even to “help”
• very thorough job during clean up
• finish the job within the estimated time frame
• reliable and prompt follow-up, when and if warranted

I elect to share subsequent items, that went far beyond my expectations, even with the bar set high.

-when it came time to settle up, the bill presented was $166 less than the amount specified in the contractors invoice, with the explanation given that unused ice and water barrier film had been returned for credit. I wonder how many other contractors would have passed these savings along to me.  My perception is that this was quite unprecedented, and that this gesture provides insight regarding who runs Apex, and how it is run.

-6 years later (2011), Pete and Adam returned at my request, to identify and address the cause of a leak, that turned out to be a skylight seal above the roof line. They made at least two trips to my house, sealed both sky lights, and even reattached a section of siding, at no charge to me.

I have recommended Apex to numerous 3M coworkers and neighbors, the majority of whom have followed through by having Apex replace their roofs.Without exception, we were all completely satisfied, both initially, and after the work has stood the test of time.
